Withdrawal & Returns
We do our very best to deliver quality products. If an item doesn't meet your expectations, you can return it within 45 days of receiving your order.
Every return starts with our withdrawal form. This is also how you exercise your legal right of withdrawal and tell us which item(s) you want to send back.
A few things to know before you send anything back:
- You have 45 days from the day you received your order.
- Return shipping is at your own expense.
- Items must be unused, with the original labels still attached, packed where possible in their original packaging, and in the same condition as you received them.
Ordered through a marketplace? If you bought your hat on Amazon, Bol.com or another marketplace, please start your return through your account on that marketplace.

Step 1 — Start your return
Fill in the withdrawal form. You'll enter your order number and email address, then select the item(s) you want to return. As soon as you submit the form, you'll receive a confirmation by email. Only after this step should you send your product back.
Step 2 — Send your product back
Once you've submitted the form, follow the instructions for your region.
United Kingdom
To return your order from the United Kingdom, please download your return label through the SPRING GDS portal. Spring GDS is set up to clear our returns correctly through Dutch customs, so your parcel reaches us without delays or extra charges.
Important: please use Spring GDS only. If you send your parcel with any other carrier, Dutch customs will treat it as an undeclared import and charge additional duties. The parcel is then refused at the border and sent back to you — which means your return cannot be processed.
European Mainland & Ireland
You can use your own preferred return service, or use Returnista. Either way, return shipping is at your own expense.

Please use a service with Track & Trace and keep your proof of postage.
Would you like to use Returnista? Please follow these steps:
- Go to https://sunhats.returnista.com/.
- Enter your email address and order number.
- Fill in your address details.
- Choose the size of your parcel.
- Complete the payment using your preferred payment method.
- Once your payment has been processed, you will receive your return label by email.
Outside Europe
You can use any return service you prefer. Return shipping is at your own expense. Please use a service with Track & Trace and keep your proof of postage, and send your return to the address above (Sunhats.eu / Freightways, Katwijk, The Netherlands).
Processing & refunding
As soon as your return arrives at our warehouse, we'll refund you no later than 10 business days after we receive it, using the same payment method you used for your order.
- Return your whole order → we refund the full amount, including the original delivery charges (from our warehouse to your address).
- Return part of your order → we refund the returned item(s), excluding delivery charges.
- Return shipping costs are not refunded.
Damaged or defective items
Received an item that's damaged or defective? Please contact our customer service at ecommerce@sunhats.eu before returning it. We'll look into it and let you know the outcome. If your claim is accepted, we'll either replace the item free of charge or give you a full refund — whichever you prefer.
Bought your hat from one of our retail partners? Please contact them directly about their exchange and return policy.
Exchanges
Would you like a different size, colour or item? We don't send replacement products directly. Instead, return your item through the standard procedure above for a full refund, and simply place a new order for the item you'd like.
Good to know
- Return shipping is at your own expense.
- Returning several items? Put them in one box — Returnista charges per parcel, so this saves you money.
- Use firm packaging — ideally the original — so the product isn't damaged on the way back. Keep all tags and labels attached, and close the box with tape.
- Always use a service with Track & Trace and keep your proof of postage, so you can prove you sent the parcel.
- Please allow up to 10 business days for processing after your parcel reaches our warehouse.
- Ordered via a marketplace (Amazon, Bol.com)? Start your return through your account on that marketplace.
